Rainbow Spell: A Pride Month Self-Care Offering

Here’s a rainbow spell for self-care that I wrote in June 2018 for my witchy feminist movie night friends. You will need a small offering (water or food works fine) and the colors of the rainbow below. You could use a candle in each color or some other representation, like a small piece of paper, stone, nail polish, or a baseball hat. Take your time with the visualization portions and change or add to the wording as it suits you. You could add the original 1978 flag colors (pink for sex and turquoise for art and magic) or the 2018 progress pride flag colors and rework to your liking.

Begin the ritual in your normal way, such as grounding, centering, cleansing self and space, calling quarters, casting a circle, and so forth.

Invocation:

🌈Goddess Iris, Rainbow messenger, hear my call. Resplendent and luminous one, your numerous hues dazzle me. Reveal your mysteries unto me. I offer ——- to you. I ask your blessings upon me, a child of your rainbow, sunshine made manifest here on earth.

❤️(Light candle or do alternative action) I pulsate with red, the color of life. I rejoice that I live. I honor my blood. (Feel yourself bathed in the light. Breathe it in. Direct it toward energy centers in your body or spirit. Stay with that visualization for a while. Do this after each color.)

🧡(Light candle or do alternative action) I pulsate with orange, the color of healing. I heal my mind, body, and spirit, repairing what needs attention. I send out healing to my trans and queer siblings around the world. 

💛(Light candle or do alternative action) I pulsate with yellow, the color of sunshine. The sun’s light powers everything on earth. Every plant and animal uses sunlight to thrive. I call on the mighty power of the sun to illuminate the darkness of hatred and ignorance. 

💚(Light candle or do alternative action) I pulsate with green, the color of nature. I stand in awe of the tremendous power of the natural world. I connect myself to the Earth, feeling Her mighty power reverberate within me. The restorative power of green soothes my soul. 

💙(Light candle or do alternative action) I pulsate with blue, the color of peace. I conjure peace within my heart. I breathe in peace. I become peace. I am peace. I send out blue waves of peace to all nations. 

💜(Light candle or do alternative action) I pulsate with violet, the color of spirit. I breathe in the Divine, the mystery of universal connection. I enter a state of union and understanding.

Sacred Iris, holy messenger, in deep gratitude I thank you for the many mysteries your rainbow has revealed to me. I send my love to the gods with you.

Leave your offering in a safe place, extinguish the candles or handle the tidying of your other objects, and close ritual in your customary way.
