Brigid and Santa Barbara

I will tend Brigid's flame as long as possible from sundown tonight until sundown tomorrow.  Tonight is also Santa Barbara's day, which is special to my heart because of my trip to Puerto Rico this summer.  I went to some of her places by accident, and interviewed my immersion teacher about her.  I was only there a week, so I didn't get to meet people involved in espiritismo, but as a former Catholic, Spanish-speaker, and goddess groupie, I find syncretic religions fascinating.  My devotion to Brigid has some similarities to others' devotion to Shango/Santa Barbara, especially in the double aspect as deity and saint.
