Day 3: What do you call your "witchcraft?"
This is part of a series based on Allec's 31 Days of Secular Witchcraft questionnaire. I wrote the bulk of these entries on 10/26 while flametending.
I call my practice witchcraft and magic pretty interchangeably. If I am doing something in the physical world with words, actions, and/or items to manifest something in a non-direct way, I typically call that a spell.
I light candles, pray, bless myself and three pieces of jewelry each night with holy water and incense and then meditate for about 20 minutes. I just call that prayer and meditation, though some might call that a spell.
I don't use the term "magick." I'm not a big Crowley fan, and I am the daughter of a stage magician. I know when I'm talking about card tricks and when I'm talking about spells. I feel no need to misspell a word to clarify something that can be understood from context.
